Now Is The Time

I did a little gig yesterday as a support act at Sunday Night Live in Derby, and did a very new song that I've written. Thought I'd whack the lyrics up here as a bit of potted testimony to what the Father's been doing with me over the last few years as He's been revealing His grace, the power of knowing who I am in Christ and that it is no longer I who live but Christ in me. They may not be explicitly Christian enough for some evangelicals - but, oh well :)

I've been waiting in darkness, hoping and praying,
Hungry for something to change
And now I can sense the wings of the morning in flight.
There's a change in the air that awakens a craving
As things start to fall into place
For the first time in a very long time I can dare to dream.

I'm seeing more clearly, but still left with questions
I'm trusting that I will be led
I'm doubting my doubts, and faith is rising again
The time is now over to timidly tarry
Breakthrough is beckoning me
There's no time to waste, that's one of those things that can't be replaced

Now is the time to shine
To stand up and sing aloud
Now is the time to fly
I've waited so long, now is the time!

Fully accepted, and loved with abandon,
I've been graced, my fear laid to waste
No longer alone, I know that Your strength is within
Purpose is certain, momentum is growing
And passion is rising again
I'll forget the past and strive for what's coming, for what I've been saved to do
